Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located about 90 km from Colombo, is a unique and heartwarming attraction dedicated to the care and conservation of orphaned and injured elephants. Established in 1975, the facility is home to one of the largest captive elephant herds in the world, offering visitors a chance to observe these majestic animals up close.
